IndustryPack Modules

IndustryPack® (IP) modules are small, 1.8" by 3.9", modules that perform specified I/O functions. Typically from two to four IP modules mount on a carrier board that contains a host bus interface. Carrier boards are available on most buses; ISA, EISA, VME, VXI, and PCI. The IP interface is an open specification defining the mechanical, electrical, and timing interface to the carrier board. A synchronous transfer at clock speeds of 8 or 32 MHz, support four types of address spaces; I/O, memory, interrupt acknowledge, and ID. The ID space permits autoconfiguration.  Many types of I/O functions are available from multiple manufacturers. If you need an I/O function you cannot find we will build a custom module for you in a lot less time than you would think.

 Motion Control Boards

Vigilant offers dedicated motion control interface boards for the PC. The suite of I/O functionality is ideal for applications such as robotics, machine tool control, industrial and medical process control. The I/O is driven by the PC CPU using simple register accesses. The on-board timer can be configured to interrupt the PC at specified intervals to implement custom motion control algorithms.

PMC Modules

PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) is a standard that defines the mechanical specifications for a set of small mezzanine cards that affix to a host board such as VME, Multibus, or boards in desktop computers. The cards can provide expansion functions for the host computer such as video, communications, or industrial I/O. The electrical interface conforms to the PCI Local Bus specifications which is a synchronous bus with a clock rate of 33 MHz and 32 or 64 bits of data thus supporting bandwidths of 132 Mbytes/sec and 264 Mbytes/sec. A single wide and double wide card are defined at 74mm x 149mm
 and 149mm x 149mm respectively.

Software

Vigilant motion control boards are designed to be easy to program. However, to facilitate the programmer's task, Vigilant offers software to both exercise the boards and as sample code.  Please see the Price List for a list of software model numbers and their pricing.
