The PT-Kit High Density I/O Module is a prototyping board for the IndustryPack compatible I/O modules. It is a hybrid custom board in that it has
resources that implement all of the IndustryPack functions that can be used with the custom logic as the interface chips to custom ICs. The resources available includes 32kbytes x 16 bits wide of SRAM, an 8 bit two-way
transceiver, two seven segment LED displays, an 8 bit latch, and a MACH 110/210 programmable logic devise in a socket. All MACH logic I/O pins and IndustryPack bus logic signals are available to the designer via headers. All
IndustryPack functions are supported. The IOSel*, MEMSel*, IDSel*, and INTSel* chip select signals are connected via a header to the MACH PLD. The PLD can be programmed to use these signals to control the available resources or
user supplied ICs. The INTReq* and DMAReq* signals can be driven from external sources or from a latch connected to the data bus. The PT-Kit allows the designer to quickly prototype a custom design with applications specific ICs
and custom logic. The only effort is to select the specific ICs and write the logic. The module is also ideal for verifying functionality of newly designed IndustryPack carrier boards. PT-Kit includes the schematic and the logic
equations for the MACH. |
