Description:

Vigilant's ValuePack D2A High Density I/O Modules are low cost approach to add just the right amount of analog output channels to an I/O subsystem built around Vigilant's SlotSaver® multifunction I/O coprocessor boards or any IndustryPack carrier board. The D2A module comes in 2, 4, or 6 single-ended channel versions, all in a single wide IndustryPack formfactor. Use of the 6 channel module provides for a maximum of 24 analog output channels on a single SlotSaver board. The conversion has an accuracy of 12 bits or 0.025% with an accuracy of 1 bit of resolution. Each channel is factory calibrated using high temperature stability trimmers. The modules are set to the desired voltage range at the factory.

The analog outputs are set by writing the digital value to the appropriate address for each channel. After all channels are written an upgrade signal is sent thus permitting simultaneous update of all channels.

The 50 pin I/O connector includes the six analog output channels each separated by a ground pin permitting the use of grounded and shielded cabling for maximum noise protection.

The ID Prom on the board can be used to identify which version of the D2A module is installed and the number of channels available.
