The PCI-DIG144E is a half-size PCI bus card with 144 TTL-level digital I/O, and a Vigilant Expander Bus interface.  The six 50-pin headers on the board have the same pinout as industry-standard relay panels for simple ribbon-cable interconnect.  The PCI-DIG96 is a lower-cost partially depopulated version, without the expansion capability.  The PCI-DIG168 version combines the Vigilant ExpDigRel24, a 24-channel expander board having relay panel pinout, with the PCI-DIG144E. .

Specifications

Digital I/O:

  • Number of channels:  96 or 144 (plus expansion)
  • programmable as 8-bit groups of input or output
  • Digital outputs have readback capability
  • Digital soft-start; all outputs are tristated until software initializes data
  • I/O drivers tolerate up to 7V at I/O pins and do not load external equipment when PC is powered OFF

I/O interface:

  • Compatible with standard 24-channel +5V logic relay panels such as OPTO-22, Grayhill, P & B
  • I/O pinout for first connector shown at right 
  • PCI-DIG144E six I/O connectors
  • PCI-DIG96 has four I/O connectors
  • PCI-DIG168 has seven I/O connectors

Interrupts:

  • Four interrupts, one on each of the four connectors used on the 96-channel version
  • Analog and digital filters on each interrupt input pin
  • Software controlled, individually maskable interrupts: no jumpers required
  • Interrupt events latched into status register. Global mask allows interrupt event latching without PCI bus interrupt. Status register readback provides software visibility to all interrupts, including masked interrupts
  • Status register readback resets and rearms unmasked interrupt latches
  • Digital output to pin can be used to test interrupts offline

  • 32-bit Memory target accesses, interface VLSI: PLX 9050.

I/O Connectors:

  • 50-pin ribbon cable headers
