Vigilant
Technologies Inc. and Vigilant Products became separate companies with separate
responsibilities and products as of January 2001. At that time, we set up Vigilant Products to
design and manufacture all of the Vigilant hardware products, including
those formerly available from Vigilant Technologies Inc.
Vigilant Technologies was transitioning to new business areas but for a time would continue providing support services such as software tool
development and international customer support.
Since 2001, Vigilant Products has continued the major standard product lines of Vigilant Technologies,
which were PCI, PMC, and IndustryPack I/O boards. with design and manufacturing upgrades to these products.
Also, we have developed standalone I/O products requested by our customers, such as Resolver-to-Encoder Converters,
Analog-to-Step Converters, and other PC-based I/O.
Vigilant Products also performs design and development services for custom hardware/software products for OEMs.
Time flies, suddenly another 10 years have gone by. It is time to update this "about Vigilant" page. Vigilant Technologies, as stated above, eventually moved on to entirely
different business and no longer exists as a corporate entity in our technology area. The original version of this page
used to direct various types of inquiries either to Vigilant Products or to Vigilant Technologies. Perhaps now we
should just put up a simpler page with our Contact information for Vigilant Products.
But since we are here, I will take this opportunity to say a bit more about the company.
Vigilant Products has remained a small, no, a tiny USA business. We aren't trying to be a gigantic company
churning out zillions of me-too widgets. Yes, we could save a few bucks by having our circuits
manufactured offshore, but we choose to work exclusively with local subcontractors. So we are within a half-day drive
from all of our vendors and subs, we work directly with their engineers and techs to resolve any production issues. If our
workload gets excessive, we bring in experienced professionals we have worked with in the past to work under our
direction, we don't mail it off to some contract house. We build our own test fixtures in-house, every circuit board is microscope-inspected here, every circuit board
electrically and functionally tested here, by us, before it ships.
We do our best to support international business but our abilities are limited, we can't travel to meet new customers,
we don't have sales or support in other countries, and frankly it is impossible for us to keep up with all the changing
international regulations for electrical/electronic compliance.
